Collection: Études Mésopotamiennes – Mesopotamian Studies

The numbered book series Etudes Mésopotamiennes - Mesopotamian Studies (EMMS), is dedicated to historical, archaeological and philological research about Mesopotamia – understood in its most general meaning, as a cultural area covering Iraq, but also some regions of Iran, Syria and Turkey – during a chronological span since prehistory until the Middle Ages. It originated from the experiences and the needs of a group of French researchers and archaeologists who, after a long interruption, have resumed fieldwork in Iraq, often while continuing their investigations in other countries of the Near-East. The publication project of the EMMS series has received the agreement and financial support of the Commission des Fouilles of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, as well as of the CNRS – through the support of the research units Orient et Méditerranée and of the Laboratoire d’Excellence ResMed.
