Lionel Marti is an archaeologist and Assyriologist, Researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research. He is a specialist on northern Mesopotamia from the Amorite period to the fall of the Assyrian Empire. He has also directed the French archaeological mission of Bash Tapa (Kurdistan, Iraq), of which he is now co-director.
