About the Author

Scott Stripling, provost and director of the Archaeology Institute at The Bible Seminary, is the director of excavations for the Associates for Biblical Research at ancient Shiloh (2017 to present). He previously directed the excavations at Khirbet el-Maqatir (2014–2016). He serves as president of the Near East Archaeological Society.

Mark A. Hassler is professor of Old Testament and director of the master of theology program at Virginia Beach Theological Seminary in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He serves as field archaeologist for the Shiloh excavations and previously worked as a supervisor at the Khirbet el-Maqatir excavations. He is vice president of the Near East Archaeological Society.
