dc.description.abstractThe American Research Center in Egypt, Inc. is pleased to announce that Mr. John Dorman has been appointed Director of the Cairo office of the Center. Mr. Dorman was born in Lebanon and lived in Beirut until he was 16 years old. He is the great-grandson of Daniel Bliss. He attended Phillips Academy and Harvard University. He received a B.A. and M.A. from Harvard. He was an instructor in English until the outbreak of World War II when he entered the United States Navy. In 1946 he joined the Foreign Service serving primarily in the Middle East until his present post at the Foreign Service Institute where he holds the simulated rank of professor.en_US
