وصف المادة:"The Michigan papyri published in this volume were excavated by American archaeologists in 1924 and 1926 in Karanis. As was the custom in those days, the finds went to America; however in the early 50s of the last century, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor returned a large part of those finds in an act of goodwill to Egypt, where they became part of the holdings of the Egyptian Museum"--Page vii.
