Die Johannesapokalypse gehört weiterhin zu den geheimnisvollsten Schriften des frühen Christentums, vielleicht der Weltliteratur überhaupt. Tobias Nicklas hat sich in den vergangenen mehr als 20 Jahren intensiv mit diesem Text auseinandergesetzt und lüftet in seinen Beiträgen zu intertextuellen Problemen, zur Bildwelt und Theologie des Texts, aber auch seiner vielfältigen, z.T. hoch problematischen Rezeptionsgeschichte viele seiner Geheimnisse.
