Die Ostraka aus der Nekropole von Dra' Abu el-Naga in Theben-West stammen in der überwiegenden Mehrzahl aus dem Doppelgrabkomplex K93.11 und K93.12, der in der frühen 18. Dynastie angelegt und in der späten 20. Dynastie unter den Hohenpriestern Ramsesnacht und dessen Sohn Amenophis neu gestaltet wurde. Von nur wenigen Ausnahmen abgesehen liegt mit diesen Texten ein so noch kaum beobachteter Sonderfall vor: Es sind Keramikostraka oder oft recht massive Kalksteinbrocken mit einem oder mehreren Personennamen als einzigem Inhalt.0In Dra? Abu el-Naga II werden die hieratischen Ostraka und Namensteine erstmals vorgelegt. Sie stammen alle aus dem Bereich der Anlage K93.12, also der des Hohenpriesters Amenophis, und waren zum überwiegenden Teil in das Mauerwerk von dessen heute zerstörter Lehmziegel-Pyramide eingebracht worden. Vermutlich sind es die Namen von Personen, die an der Neugestaltung der Anlage beteiligt waren, also von dort beschäftigten Arbeitern. Diese beinahe 100 Namen, darunter etwa 70 unterschiedliche, ergeben eine veritable Liste der am Bau der Pyramide und der Grabanlage Beteiligten. Die Streufunde aus den übrigen Arealen haben meist ebenfalls einen nichtliterarischen Inhalt. Während der früheste Text den Namen des Königs Nubcheperre-Intef nennt und damit aus der Zeit der späten 17. Dynastie stammt, enthält der späteste Beleg den Namen des Hohenpriesters Mencheperre aus der 21. Dynastie.

Les animaux et l'histoire d'Alexandrie antique et médiévale : étude archéozoologique d'après les fouilles du CEAlex (1993-2009) /

Ce volume propose une analyse des relations entre les populations humaines et les animaux à Alexandrie dans l'Antiquité et au Moyen Âge. L'étude archéozoologique s'appuie sur 32 000 restes fauniques (os, dents, coquilles) mis au jour sur sept sites fouillés par le Centre d'Études Alexandrines dans l'antique quartier du Brouchion. De nombreux aspects de la vie domestique alexandrine sont explorés. Les pratiques alimentaires de ces populations de cultures grecque, romaine et musulmane y sont décrites. Les analyses quantitatives fournissent des éléments de discussion sur la place des animaux de l'élevage, des produits de la pêche et de la chasse dans le régime carné. L'étude des objets fabriqués en os, en coquille de mollusque et en corail, pose les bases d'une réflexion sur l'exploitation des matières dures d'origine animale et de leurs usages dans l'espace urbain antique et médiéval d'Alexandrie. Enfin, des espèces originaires du continent européen et de la région indo-pacifique sont des témoignages précieux des réseaux d'échanges commerciaux du passé. The site of Deir el-Medina is unique in its particularly well-preserved archaeological remains, which represent an exceptional ensemble in Egypt (consisting of a village, a necropolis and a temple), and in the rich documentation that it has delivered across the millennia. The inhabitants of Deir el-Medina--artists as well as craftsmen--dug and decorated the hypogea of the sovereigns in the Valley of the Kings and Queens. They did not restrict the use of their talents to benefit only the sovereigns, but decorated, or had decorated by the most skilled amongst them, their own tombs and were buried with hundreds of cult objects and grave goods. The scribes kept archives, which constitute an incredible wealth of information for the history of the New Kingdom and the functioning of the royal sites. They also had literary interests, and some of them established libraries, which are considered among the richest of those that have survived. Walking around the site of Deir el-Medina and studying the paintings that adorn the walls of the rock tombs, the visitor will get to know the spirit of its occupants, their earthly ambitions, the religious and funerary universe of their conception of the afterlife and also the feasts of the multiple deities who composed the local pantheon. Obgleich es aus dem alten Ägypten sowohl zahlreiche erhaltene Amulette als auch Texte mit Hinweisen für ihre Anwendung gibt, fehlt bislang eine angemessene übergreifende Untersuchung dazu. Joachim Friedrich Quack bietet eine detaillierte Behandlung dieser Artefakte und (Meta)texte von der Vorgeschichte (4. Jtsd. v. Chr.) bis in die römische Kaiserzeit (ca. 3.-4. Jhd. n. Chr.). Die Darstellung erfolgt einerseits chronologisch, andererseits thematisch, indem zusammengehörige Sachgruppen übergreifend vorgestellt werden. Bei der Behandlung der Amulette wird ein besonderes Gewicht auf archäologisch gut dokumentierte Gräberfelder gelegt, um chronologische Entwicklungen besser zu fassen. Dadurch kann z.B. eine sehr diesseitsorientierte Amulettausstattung der Dritten Zwischenzeit klar von einer am Vorbild des Osiris orientierten, spezifisch funerären ab der 26. Dynastie differenziert werden.

"Der Tempel der Göttin Hathor in Dendara besitzt zahlreiche kleinere Räume und Kapellen, die durch architektonisch eigens hervorgehobene Zugänge miteinander verbunden, aber auch voneinander abgetrennt sind. Diese wie der Rest des Tempels beschrifteten Zugänge geben sowohl Auskunft über die theologische Gesamtkonzeption des Kultbaus als auch über die jeweils unterschiedliche Bestimmung der einzelnen Räume. In den hieroglyphischen Texten der Türen werden Hathor und andere in Dendara verehrte Gottheiten in Hymnen gepriesen und verschiedene Aspekte der Theologie des Heiligtums abgehandelt. 0Jan Tattkos Studie widmet sich diesen Texten auf den Türen. Analysiert werden die Wechselwirkungen zwischen Dekoration und Architektur: Es wird aufgezeigt, wie durch die Redaktion und Neukonzeption von Textsequenzen und Einzelaussagen aus unterschiedlichen Versatzstücken kohärente Textkompositionen entstanden sind, die an ihren Anbringungsort adaptiert wurden. Somit stehen vor allem Intertextualität und die Frage nach einem einheitlichen Konzept der Inschriften im Fokus der Untersuchung. Dazu werden die Türinschriften inhaltlich und sprachstilistisch untersucht und mit der umliegenden Dekoration verglichen. Die Untersuchung gibt nicht nur Einblicke in den Gestaltungswillen der ägyptischen Priester und in die Dekorationsplanung eines späten ägyptischen Tempels, sondern liefert durch die inhaltliche Analyse der Texte gleichzeitig einen Überblick über die Theologie des Heiligtums in Dendara."--
