This volume includes more than 15,000 citations to periodical literature published during the twentieth century. Citations are included for each of the books and of the New Testament and these are aranged in canonical order. The specific references are set forth within each canonical book by textual unit. The arrangement of these textual units is the longer before the shorter. There are approximately 175 periodicals included. While the major emphasis is upon English language journals, there are several different language groups represented. The journals included are representative of various theological perspectives. The work includes a comprehensive author index. Index to Periodical Literature for the Study of the New Testament has been selected by Choice as Outstanding Academic Title (2005).

The Orion Center Bibliography of the Dead Sea Scrolls (1995-2000) is the fourth official Scrolls bibliography, following bibliographies covering the periods 1948-1957 (W. S. LaSor), 1958-1969 (B. Jongeling), and 1970-1995 (F. García Martínez and D. W. Parry). The current interest in the Scrolls, with at least two journals dedicated to these texts, has led to a proliferation of secondary literature, theses, and electronic publications. The Orion Center Bibliography contains over 3000 entries, including approximately 600 reviews, gathered from the École Biblique et Archéologique Française in Jerusalem, from on-line databases, and from the authors themselves. Elliot R. Wolfson is Professor of Religious Studies and the Marsha and Jay Glazer Chair of Jewish Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. A scholar of Jewish mysticism and philosophy, he uses the textual sources of Judaism to examine universal philosophical topics such as the function and processes of the imagination, the paradoxes of temporality, and the mystery of poetic language.
