This monograph seeks to determine the geographical provenance of Isaiah 40-55. It reassesses past research pertaining to Babylonian influence and reexamines the claims that all or parts of Isaiah 40-55 reflect the concerns of the exilic community in Babylon. It further challenges the prevalent view that the return of the exiles is of central concern in Isaiah 40-55, and instead proposes that Jerusalem and her imminent restoration is its focal point. It interprets Isaiah 40-55 as a polyvalent text that allows multiple and often contradictory views regarding Jerusalem's current suffering. The monograph investigates these views, understood to represent the opinons of different segments of the target audience of Isaiah 40-55, with the aim of determining their geographical and theological locations.

The investigations form the basis for offering some perspectives concerning key topics of ocean governance: cross-sectoral, holistic, and integrated approaches, science-based decision-making, adaptation, the ecosystem approach, and ocean governance as an emerging field of study.

Benjamin hat damit vorweggenommen, was sich in der Folge nicht nur zunehmend im wissenschaftlichen, sondern auch im literarischen Diskurs etabliert hat: Zwischen verschiedenen Medien können Varianten des Zusammenspiels bestehen und besonders die Darstellung vergangener Realität gewinnt durch den textuellen Rekurs auf Visualität an Aussagekraft. Für die Darstellung von Geschichte im postmodernen historischen Roman bietet der Rekurs auf Modi visueller Repräsentation und auf Zuschreibungsmerkmale fotografischer und filmischer Visualität einen signifikanten Mehrwert. Since the 1990s there has been an emphasis on the study of ancient Israelite prophecy in its ancient Near East context. Prophecy in the Ancient Near East is the first book-length study that compares prophecy in the ancient Near East by focusing on texts from Mari, the Neo-Assyrian State Archives, and the Hebrew Bible. The author analyzes prophecy in each culture independently before comparisons are made.
