Post-deconstructive subjectivity and history : phenomenology, critical theory, and postcolonial thought /
:
In Post-Deconstructive Subjectivity and History , Aniruddha Chowdhury argues that deconstruction is not only not a dissolution of subject, as it is often opined, but an affirmation of the singular (ethical) subject and singular history, singularity conceived as alterity, difference and non-identity. Part of the emphasis of the singular history is to conceive the historical relation as figural and as one of repletion with difference. One of the distinctive aspects of the book is that it not only focuses on the tradition of phenomenology, but also extends deconstruction to critical theory, and postcolonial theory. Through his intimate reading of the canonical texts of the Continental philosophical tradition (phenomenology and critical theory), and postcolonial thought Chowdhury illuminates pertinent issues in Continental thought, and postcolonial theory.

Post-Systematic Theology II : The Trinitarian Adventure of Love - Ecological Ways of Creation, Humaning and its Displacement /
:
This second volume of the comprehensive and conceptual proposal of a Post-Systematic Theology - based on a phenomenological, narrative ontology - treats the trinitarian adventure of love, from the doctrine of God up to the doctrine of sin. In the doctrine of God, the distinctions of divine revealed personality, narrative divine unity, and the divine attributes are discussed. The ecological ways of creation deal with classical themes of creation as the image of the Trinity, cosmology, real possibilities, angels and aliens as well as biological evolution. Humans are presented as relational processes of becoming (humaning) in ontic solidarity to the created mesh. The chapter on hamartiology understands human sin as a misplaced becoming in this mesh. The volume concludes with a proposal for an ethos of creatureliness. Interdisciplinary considerations between theology, philosophy, and the natural sciences play a major role throughout the work.

Philo of Alexandria and post-Aristotelian philosophy /
:
The essays collected in this volume focus on the role played by the philosophy of the Hellenistic, or post-Aristotelian age (from the school of the successors of Aristotle, Theophrastus and other Peripatetics, Epicurus, Sceptical Academy and Stoicism, to neo-Pythagorenism and the schools of Antiochus and Eudorus) in Philo of Alexandria's works. Despite many authoritative studies on Philo's vision of Greek philosophy as an exegetical tool in allegorizing the Scripture, there is not such a comprehensive overview in Philo's treatises that takes in account both the progress achieved in the recent interpretation of Hellenistic philosophy and analysis of ancient doxographical literature.

Post-Roman and medieval drying kilns : foundations of archaeological research /
:
Drying kilns, corn-dryers, and malting ovens are familiar features in post-Roman, Anglo-Saxon and medieval archaeology, yet few works of synthesis are available. Robert Rickett's pioneering dissertation is published here with additional material from Mark McKerracher which sets the work within the context of more recent studies.

Islam in Post-communist Eastern Europe : Between Churchification and Securitization /
:
In Islam in Post-communist Eastern Europe: Between Churchification and Securitization Egdūnas Račius reveals how not only the governance of religions but also practical politics in post-communist Eastern Europe are permeated by the strategies of churchification and securitization of Islam. Though most Muslims and the majority of researchers of Islam hold to the view that there may not be church in Islam, material evidence suggests that the representative Muslim religious organizations in many Eastern European countries have been effectively turned into ecclesiastical-bureaucratic institutions akin to nothing less than 'national Muslim Churches'. As such, these 'national Muslim Churches' themselves take an active part in securitization, advanced by both non-Muslim political and social actors, of certain forms of Islamic religiosity.

The figure of Joseph in post-Biblical Jewish literature /
:
This book is a comparative study in the hermeneutics of the ancient interpretations of the biblical Joseph story. Assuming that every interpretation results from a creative encounter between the ultimately open text of Scripture and the specific thought world of the interpreter, it examines the particular way in which each exegete construes the biblical outline of Joseph's character. Paying special attention to the literary nature of the sources, the study begins with an analysis of the narrative methods and the hermeneutic potential of the biblical story, and then proceeds to the inter-testamental evidence. The central concern of this study is to compare the different interpretations of the philosopher Philo, the historian Josephus and the Midrash Genesis Rabbah. These sources do not only range over a considerable amount of time but significantly derive respectively from the Greek and Hebrew cultural realm. Consequently, their figures of Joseph fulfil distinctly different purposes, ranging from an idealisation of Joseph as a Hellenistic politician to autobiographical apologetics and religious instruction.
