God and the world of signs Trinity, evolution, and the metaphysical semiotics of C.S. Peirce /
:
Christianity has been described as "a religion seeking a metaphysic". Drawing on the philosophy of C. S. Peirce, Robinson develops a metaphysical framework centred around a 'semiotic model' of the Trinity. The model invites a fresh approach to the claim that Jesus was the incarnate Word of God and suggests a new way of understanding how nature may bear the imprint of the Triune Creator in the form of 'vestiges of the Trinity in creation'. Scientific spin-offs include a new perspective on the problem of the origin of life and a novel hypothesis about the evolution of human distinctiveness. The result is an original contribution to Trinitarian theology and a bold new way of integrating philosophy, science and religion.

Liberating the Repressed Self among Contemporary Chinese : A Theoretical Study Involving Tu Weiming and Jürgen Moltmann /
:
Blessed are those who are free to open their heart and unveil their hidden true selves. For their relational selfhood are graciously morally-cultivated in the community of grace. The repressed form of self (RFS) that is caused by relational selfhood under repressive social impositions is prevalent in contemporary Ru-influenced Chinese (CRIC) societies. For it is a significant factor causing a variety of emotional, psychological, interpersonal and communicative problems, and even suicide. This study first examines Tu Weiming's New Ruist relational selfhood and demonstrates that the features of Tu's account are not significantly different from the features of CRIC relational selfhood. Subsequently, the study examines Jürgen Moltmann's Christian social trinitarian relational selfhood, featuring an open relational self, embedded within a dynamic diversity in unity as well as a unity in diversity. Hwang argues that Moltmann's account contains a positive potentiality to liberate the RFS.

Among digitized manuscripts : philology, codicology, paleography in a digital world /
:
"Working with manuscripts has become a digital affair. But, are there downsides to digital photos? And how can you take advantage of the incredible computing power you have literally at your fingertips? Cornelis van Lit explains in detail what happens when manuscript studies meets digital humanities. In Among Digitized Manuscripts you will learn why it is important to include a note on the photo quality in your codicological description, how to draw, collect, and publish glyphs of paleographic interest, what standards (such as TEI and IIIF) to abide by when transcribing a text, how to write custom software for image recognition, and much more. The leading principle is that learning a little about computers will already be of great benefit".

Walking on the pages of the Word of God : self, land, and text among Evangelical volunteers in Jerusalem /
:
In Walking on the Pages of the Word of God Aron Engberg explores the religious language and identities of evangelical volunteer workers in contemporary Jerusalem. The volunteers are connected to Christian organizations which consider their work a natural consequence of the biblical promises to Israel and their responsibility to "bless the Jewish people". Relying on ethnographic data of the discursive practices of the volunteers, the book explores a central puzzle of Zionist Christianity: the narrative production of Israel's religious significance and its relationship to broader Christian language traditions. By focusing on the volunteers' stories about themselves, the land and the Bible, Aron Engberg offers a convincing account about how the State of Israel is finding its way into evangelical identities.

Elitism and the Approach to God /
:
Elitism and the Approach to God investigates a historical and cultural dichotomy in European history which has not hitherto been satisfactorily explained Why did so many of the most influential "authorities" of the age insist that the nature and mystery of the divine and of God should not be shared with "the vulgar crowd", that is with the ordinary people, although this appears to be the principal purpose of all other religious teaching throughout the period? Robin Raybould gives examples from the works of more than sixty "authorities" who insisted that the mysteries of the divine should remain secret. He then surveys the attempts of other religious and civic leaders, both pagan and Christian, to investigate, understand and by contrast to share their findings on the nature of God. In a final section he attempts to reconcile these opposing views.

Saints, sinners, and the God of the world the Hartford sermon notebook transcribed, 1679-1680 /
:
Saints, Sinners, and The God of the World: The Hartford Sermon Notebook Transcribed, 1679-1680 , is a complete transcription of The Hartford Sermon Notebook, a compact, bound series of notes taken from sermons delivered by the ministers Isaac Foster, Ben Woodbridge, John Whiting, Caleb Watson, and Thomas Cheever, in Hartford, Connecticut during the years 1679 and 1680. The original notebook's authorship is unknown, but whoever took the notes did a meticulous job, and the 62 sermons contained in the notebook are nearly all complete. These sermons span a two year period of colonial Connecticut history where few extant sources exist, and represent important new primary source material for scholars of colonial New England's earliest religious history
