Gregory of Nyssa's Homilies on the Our Father are the second explanation of this central prayer of Christian worship in Greek Antiquity. Composed at the end of the 4th century, these five homilies offer a spiritual and pastoral commentary of the Pater Noster. The present volume, edited by Matthieu Cassin (Paris), Hélène Grelier-Deneux (Paris) and Françoise Vinel (Strasbourg), offers introductory materials, a new English translation, the first edition of the 15th century Latin translation by Athanasios Chalkeopoulos, together with five studies that form a commentary for the different homilies, and nineteen shorter contributions on various aspects of the text. The contributors envisage the text according to exegesis and theology, but also to philosophy, rhetoric and history of Christian communities.

The Karnak Cachette, excavated by Georges Legrain between 1903 and 1907, is one of the most fascinating discoveries of Egyptian archaeology. The first reason lies in the very high number of objects found in it (statues, stelae, furniture of various kinds), some of them still unpublished, all of which are documents of major importance for the religious life of Karnak, but also more generally for the history and art of Pharaonic Egypt between the Middle Kingdom and the Ptolemaic period. The second reason is that the raison d'être of this cache and the historical circumstances surrounding its creation remain mysterious. Even if some comparisons can be made with other caches found in Egypt and the Sudan, its magnitude and wealth are exceptional. Cicero's dialogue Brutus offers a history of Roman eloquence from its origins and Greek roots up to the time of the work's composition (46 BC) in the late Republic. It forms part of Cicero's response to the political and intellectual changes brought about by Caesar's dictatorship and has therefore attracted considerable scholarly attention from a number of fields. However, scholarly discourse has frequently remained isolated. This volume addresses the need to look at Cicero's treatise from an interdisciplinary angle and assembles contributions from scholars of historiography, prosopography, rhetoric, philosophy and politics. It thus puts forward a coherent and genuine interpretation of Cicero's Brutus that showcases the significance of this text for our understanding of the final years of the Roman Republic.

Les classiques continuent de fasciner les artistes de la scène, qui ne cessent de s'interroger sur la manière dont ces œuvres sont susceptibles de rejoindre le public. En inscrivant ce livre à l'enseigne de la célèbre formule « faire théâtre de tout » du metteur en scène français Antoine Vitez, nous désirons montrer la persistance d'une problématique qui oblige à tenir compte de l'évolution des formes dramatiques mais aussi du régime culturel plus vaste, numérique en ce qui concerne le XXIe siècle, au sein duquel s'insère la transposition de ces œuvres sur la scène. Les études rassemblées dans ce volume jettent un regard croisé sur les pratiques scéniques contemporaines qui recourent à des textes littéraires au Québec et en Europe, tout en éclairant plusieurs enjeux théoriques et méthodologiques. Classics from prior centuries continue to fascinate theatre artists. They never stop thinking of ways to stage these works to reach actual audiences. By referring, in the title of our book, to French director Antoine Vitez's famous quote "make theatre with everything", we want to point out the persistence of a problematic causing artists to not only take into account the evolution of dramatic forms, but also the broader cultural regime, digital for the 21st Century, within which these transpositions take place.
