: "The present work examines the form and function of hieroglyphic signs on the naos of Sopdu from Saft el-Henneh, now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. This monument, dating to the 30th Dynasty and inscribed on all four sides, is of considerable epigraphic interest, as there are few similarly long inscriptions from that period. The plates show almost 1,500 signs that have been drawn especially to accompany this publication. These are grouped into 443 categories which are described in the usual format of the collection Paléographie hiéroglyphique: identification of the sign, palaeographical description with particular reference to parallels on contemporary monuments, and function. "In Jeremiah 52 in the Context of the Book of Jeremiah, Henk de Waard offers a thorough examination of the final chapter of the book of Jeremiah. Particular attention is paid to the chapter's relationship with the parallel text in 2 Kings 24:18-25:30, to the differences between the Masoretic text and the Old Greek translation, to the literary function of Jeremiah 52 within the book of Jeremiah, and to the chapter's historical context. De Waard shows that, especially in the early text form represented by the Old Greek, Jeremiah 52 is not a mere appendix to the book, but a golah-oriented epilogue, indicating the contrasting destinies of pre-exilic Judah and the exilic community in Babylon".

Thirty-six chapters by leading specialists set Plutarch within the framework of modern theories on intertextuality and its various practical applications in Plutarch's Moralia and Parallel Lives . Specific intertextual devices such as quotations, references, allusions, pastiches and other types of intertextual play are highlighted and examined in view of their significance for Plutarch's literary strategies, argumentative goals, educational program, and self-presentation.
