Le site archéologique le plus visité au Maroc, Volubilis est connu depuis longtemps pour ses mosaïques spectaculaires. Ce livre traite de ce qui est arrivé à la ville après le retrait de l'administration romaine à la fin du troisième siècle. Les fouilles publiées ici montrent comment la ville a continué à survivre jusqu'au cinquième siècle, avec des maisons d'élite commandant encore des mosaïques élégantes, et comment cette occupation a pris fin dans un séisme brutal. La ville renaît au sixième siècle avec de nouveaux occupants, la tribu berbère des Awraba. Au VIIIe siècle, il devint le siège de l'homme qui unit la plus grande partie du Maroc à la tête de l'Awraba, Idris I, descendant du prophète Mahomet. The most-visited archaeological site in Morocco, Volubilis has long been known for its spectacular mosaics. Instead, this book deals with what happened to the town after the Roman administration was withdrawn at the end of the third century. The excavations published here show how the town continued to survive into the fifth century, with élite houses still commissioning elegant and witty mosaics, and how this occupation came to an end in a brutal earthquake. The town revived in the sixth century with new occupants, the Berber Awraba tribe. In the eighth century, it became the headquarters of the man who united most of Morocco at the head of the Awraba, Idris I, a descendant of the prophet Mohammed. Unpublished objects and texts as well as results of most recent field research are presented by leading scholars in archaeology, Egyptology, architectural history and religious studies. The focus on the regions of Aswan and Ancient Thebes reflects the particular research interests of the honoree and his constant efforts to protect the archaeological heritage at these two centers of Ancient Egyptian civilization.

Les << Magasins nord >> de Thoutmosis III sont un ensemble de huit salles accessibles par le couloir périmétral de l'enceinte en grès du temple d'Amon-Rê à Karnak. Bâties par Thoutmosis III pendant son règne autonome après la disparition de la reine Hatchepsout, ces salles forment un complexe à l'accès restreint qui a subi plusieurs transformations architecturales dont les plus remarquables sont la modification de son accès ouest au cours du règne même de Thoutmosis III et la décoration d'une des salles du complexe par Ptolémée XI Sôter II près de quatorze siècles après sa construction. Cet ensemble entretient des liens étroits avec les autres structures du règne de Thoutmosis III dont l'Akh-menou, nouveau cœur cultuel du temple d'Amon-Rê, mais aussi avec les zones d'accès et le centre du temple de Karnak. Ce volume livre pour la première fois l'ensemble de la matière épigraphique, en grande partie inédite, de ce secteur (fac-similés, textes hiéroglyphiques en ligne et traduction commentée) ainsi qu'une couverture photographique complète, réalisée après l'achèvement, en 2016, d'un important programme de restauration et de conservation.
The "Northern Storerooms" of Thutmosis III are a set of eight chambers accessible through the corridor within the sandstone enclosure of the Temple of Amun-Re at Karnak. Built by Thutmosis III during his autonomous reign after the death of Queen Hatshepsut, these chambers form a complex with restricted access that underwent several architectural transformations. Among the most remarkable are the modification of its western entrance during Thutmosis III's own reign and the decoration of one of the chambers by Ptolemy XI Soter II, nearly fourteen centuries after its construction. This complex maintains close connections with other structures from the reign of Thutmosis III, including the Akh-menu, the new cultic center of the Temple of Amun-Re, as well as the access areas and the central part of the Karnak Temple. This volume presents, for the first time, all of the epigraphic material, largely unpublished, from this sector (including facsimiles, hieroglyphic texts, and translations), along with complete photographic coverage, undertaken after the completion of a major restoration and conservation programme in 2016.

The seminar on `Freedom of Association' was held in Reykjavik (Iceland) from 26 to 28 August 1993. It was organised by the Directorate of Human Rights of the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Iceland, and dealt with the following four themes: freedom of association and political democracy; freedom of association and civil society; freedom of association and social democracy; freedom to form and join or not to join trade unions. Written communications were presented on the following subjects: case law of Article 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights, freedom of association and the freedom of associations, freedom of association of immigrants in Europe, freedom of association and public service and freedom of association, labour law and the needs of a democratic society. About one hundred personalities took part: representatives of governments of member States, representatives of non-governmental organisations, members of the European Commission and Court of Human Rights, professors and other interested persons from Central, Western and Eastern Europe competent in the fields covered by the themes of the Seminar. This publication contains the Proceedings of the Seminar: the official speeches made at the opening ceremony, the reports and written communications, the interventions, the final report and the list of participants. Le Séminaire sur la `Liberté d'association' a eu lieu à Reykjavik (Islande) du 26 au 28 août 1993. Il a été organisé par la Direction des Droits de l'Homme du Conseil de l'Europe en collaboration avec le Ministère de la Justice de l'Islande. Les travaux du Séminaire de Reykjavik ont été axés sur les quatre thèmes suivants: liberté d'association et démocratie politique; liberté des associations et société civile; liberté d'association et démocratie sociale; liberté de fonder avec d'autres des syndicats et de s'y affilier. Des communications écrites ont été présentées sur les questions suivantes: jurisprudence de l'Article 11 de la Convention européenne des Droits de l'Homme, liberté d'association et libertés des associations, liberté d'association des immigrés en Europe, liberté d'association et fonction publique et liberté d'association, droit du travail et les besoins d'une société démocratique.
