A History of the Arab Component in Ibero-American Architecture /
:
This book examines five centuries of Ibero-American architectural history through the lens of its Arabic architectural component. It seeks to illuminate an integral part of Ibero-American culture-one that is frequently ignored and undervalued as merely an exotic influence. Fernando Martínez Nespral's A History of the Arab Component in Ibero-American Architecture stands as a landmark contribution to our understanding of the region's architectural heritage, inviting us to see the world through new eyes and to embrace the rich tapestry of cultures that have shaped our shared landscape. It is a book that will resonate with scholars and enthusiasts alike, inspiring us to explore the hidden corners of history and celebrate the diversity that lies at the heart of Ibero-America's architectural identity. Fernando Luiz Lara , Professor of Architectural History and Theory at the Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania.

Ubuntu, migration, and ministry : being human in a Johannesburg church /
:
Ubuntu, Migration and Ministry invites the reader to rethink ubuntu (Nguni: humanness/humanity) as a moral notion in the context of local communities. The socio-moral patterns that emerge at the crossroads between ethnography and social ethics offer a fresh perspective to what it means to be human in contemporary Johannesburg. The Central Methodist Mission is known for sheltering thousands of migrants and homeless people in the inner city. Based on ethnographic fieldwork, primarily conducted in 2009, Elina Hankela unpacks the church leader's liberationist vision of humanity and analyses the tension between the congregation and the migrants, linked to the refugee ministry. While relational virtues mark the community's moral code, various regulating rules and structures shape the actual relationships at the church. Here ubuntu challenges and is challenged. Winner of the 2014 Donner Institute Prize for Outstanding Research into Religion.

Morocco's Africa Policy /
:
Since the advent of the reign of Mohammed VI in 1999, Morocco has deployed a new continental foreign policy. The Kingdom aspires to be recognized as an emerging African power in its identity as well as in its space of projection. In order to meet these ambitions, the diplomatic apparatus is developing and modernizing, while a singular role identity is emerging around the notion of the "golden mean". This study presents, on an empirical level, the conditions of the elaboration and conduct of this Africa policy, and analyzes, on a theoretical level, the evolution of the Moroccan role identity in the international system.
