The present volume is the result of a team research which gathered biblical scholars, philologists, and historians of religions, on the issue of the multiple \'Interpretations of Moses\' inherited from the ancient mediterranean cultures. The concrete outcome of this comparative inquiry is the common translation and commentary of the fragments from the works of the mysterious Artapanus. The comparative perspective suggested here is not so much methodological, or thematic. It is first of all an invitation to cross disciplinary boundaries and to take account of the contributions of diverse cultures to the formation of a single mythology, in the case, a Moses mythology. With respect to Judea, Greece, Egypt or Rome, and further more an emerging christianity and its \'gnostic\' counterpart, the figure of Moses is at the heart of a cross-cultural dialogue the pieces of which, if they can be seperated for the confort of their specific study, mostly gain by being put together. Ce volume est le fruit d'un travail d'équipe, qui a réuni des biblistes, des philologues, et des historiens des religions autour des multiples « Interprétations de Moïse » que nous ont léguées les cultures de la Méditerranée antique. Le résultat pratique de cette enquête comparatiste culmine dans la traduction et le commentaire à « douze mains » des fragments du mystérieux Artapan, qui ouvrent le volume. Le comparatisme proposé dans le présent volume ne se veut ni méthodologique ni thématique, mais vise d'abord à franchir les frontières disciplinaires, tout en envisageant les apports culturels respectifs contribuant à la formation d'une mythologie, en l'occurrence celle de Moïse. Entre la Judée, l'Egypte, la Grèce, Rome, et bien-sûr le christianisme naissant et l'univers « gnostique » qui l'accompagne, la figure de Moïse est au cœur d'un dialogue, dont les pièces, si elles peuvent être disjointes pour la commodité de l'étude, gagnent surtout à être rapprochées.

Régine Robin (1939-2021) fut une intellectuelle hors norme. Historienne et sociologue, philosophe et romancière, linguiste et traductrice du yiddish, elle est l'anthropologue des non-lieux. Sans cesse, elle explora d'horizons divers, arpentant des territoires novateurs. Riche de ses exils, des « pays de la mort » jusqu'au Québec et New York, Robin creusa des pistes dans ses ruines personnelles, posant les fondations d'une nouvelle écriture de la Shoah, sans jamais céder à L'Immense Fatigue des pierres . Son œuvre protéiforme, chantier à vif resté inachevé, est traversée de problématiques identitaires, à la lisière de la déconstruction et en dialogue avec les arts et pratiques mémorielles. Précurseure aussi de l'ère digitale, son "work in progress" est source d'inspiration pour ses contemporains. Régine Robin (1939-2021) was an extraordinary intellectual. A historian and sociologist, philosopher and novelist, linguist and translator of Yiddish, she was the anthropologist of non-places. Continuously, she explored diverse horizons, navigating innovative territories. Enriched by her exiles, from the "lands of death" to Quebec and New York, Robin delved into paths within her personal ruins, laying the foundations for a new writing of the Shoah, without ever yielding to L'Immense Fatigue des pierres . . Her multifaceted work, an unfinished raw project, is imbued with identity issues, on the edge of deconstruction, and in dialogue with the arts and memory practices. A forerunner of the digital age, her "work in progress" continues to inspire her contemporaries.

For the majority of scholars, the Animal Apocalypse is a militant text, a piece of pro-Maccabean propaganda. This text, however, develops theological reflections that are distinctly different from a justification of an armed struggle. Its themes are even incompatible with the Maccabean movement. It is impossible to condemn the Second Temple and, at the same time, mobilise people for a fight in order to purify that very Temple. After dealing with text-critical issues, this work challenges the thesis that the text is military propaganda through the use of narrative and historical approaches. The analyses, besides proposing a new way of a studying an apocalypse, spell out the peculiarity and the significance of the theology of the Animal Apocalypse in connection with the biblical history of Israel and the theology of the Qumran community.

Les Douze Prophètes dans la LXX : protocoles et procédures dans la traduction grecque: stylistique, poétique et histoire /

La traduction grecque des Douze Prophètes est intéressante à plus d'un titre. Le caractère littéraire de ces textes légitime le réexamen des protocoles et des procédures stylistiques et poétiques mis en œuvre par le traducteur lors du transfert de l'hébreu au grec. Les acquis récents en histoire textuelle justifient de revenir sur certaines variantes du texte grec, qu'elles relèvent d'une Vorlage différente du texte massorétique ou des procédures textuelles imaginées face à un mot hébreu rare ou à une difficulté exégétique. Les traces d'interprétation obligent ainsi à interroger le milieu de production - culturel, politique ou religieux - de la Septante des Douze. Les lectures juives et chrétiennes du Dodékaprophéton, de Symmaque à l'expression iconographique byzantine, témoignent enfin de l'importance de l'histoire de la réception autant que du texte lui-même. The Greek translation of the Minor Prophets is interesting from several points of view. The literary character of the texts calls for a re-examination of the stylistic and poetic strategies employed by the translator. Recent developments in the study of textual history justify a fresh study of certain variants in the Greek that may arise either from a non-Masoretic Vorlage or from attempts to deal with rare Hebrew words or exegetical difficulties. Such signs of interpretative activity thus raise questions about the original context in which the Septuagint of the Twelve was produced. Finally, Jewish and Christian readings of the Dodekapropheton testify to the importance of the book's reception history as well as of the text itself.
