| الملخص: | Collective fear is probably the most productive emotion in shaping international relations not only in short-term political decision-making processes, but also in the deeper layers of intercultural communication based on social and cultural memory. Taking into account the Baltic Sea Region as an area of multi-layered interdependencies, identities, and interests is the starting point to consider the emotional factors of international relations in this macro-region. Given the deep territorial changes in the Baltic Sea Region throughout the twentieth century, one of the most burning issues would concern political, geopolitical, cultural, ethnical, and linguistic borders. The multi-perspectivity of the volume including studies by historians, political scientists, and sociologists aims at casting a new light on bordering, de-bordering and re-bordering processes in the Baltic Sea Region since 1918. |
