الملخص:On an archaeological excavation there is always the air of hopeful anticipation of an exciting discovery, In an enterprise such as the Epigraphic Survey has been conducting for more than forty years there is little expectation of finding hitherto unseen evidence, Most of the monuments we have been documenting have been known for generations, and scholars have made copies of what they consider important. Such records usually have been incomplete and have not always been accurate. Seldom have they given a full picture of the available information from a monument.
