Die Ostraka aus der Nekropole von Dra' Abu el-Naga in Theben-West stammen in der überwiegenden Mehrzahl aus dem Doppelgrabkomplex K93.11 und K93.12, der in der frühen 18. Dynastie angelegt und in der späten 20. Dynastie unter den Hohenpriestern Ramsesnacht und dessen Sohn Amenophis neu gestaltet wurde. Von nur wenigen Ausnahmen abgesehen liegt mit diesen Texten ein so noch kaum beobachteter Sonderfall vor: Es sind Keramikostraka oder oft recht massive Kalksteinbrocken mit einem oder mehreren Personennamen als einzigem Inhalt.0In Dra? Abu el-Naga II werden die hieratischen Ostraka und Namensteine erstmals vorgelegt. Sie stammen alle aus dem Bereich der Anlage K93.12, also der des Hohenpriesters Amenophis, und waren zum überwiegenden Teil in das Mauerwerk von dessen heute zerstörter Lehmziegel-Pyramide eingebracht worden. Vermutlich sind es die Namen von Personen, die an der Neugestaltung der Anlage beteiligt waren, also von dort beschäftigten Arbeitern. Diese beinahe 100 Namen, darunter etwa 70 unterschiedliche, ergeben eine veritable Liste der am Bau der Pyramide und der Grabanlage Beteiligten. Die Streufunde aus den übrigen Arealen haben meist ebenfalls einen nichtliterarischen Inhalt. Während der früheste Text den Namen des Königs Nubcheperre-Intef nennt und damit aus der Zeit der späten 17. Dynastie stammt, enthält der späteste Beleg den Namen des Hohenpriesters Mencheperre aus der 21. Dynastie.

The reliefs of the chapel of Nebhepetre Mentuhotep at Gebelein (CGT 7003/1-277) /

In 1910 Ernesto Schiaparelli, along with the Italian Archaeological Mission on behalf of the Regio Museo di Antichità Egizie, excavated the area where, during the Eleventh Dynasty, King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep erected a chapel to the goddess Hathor at the site of Gebelein. Some of the blocks belonging to this chapel had already been moved to the Cairo Museum during the nineteenth century, and finds during Schiaparelli's campaign were taken to the Egyptian Museum at Turin. In this work, Elisa Fiore Marochetti presents documents from these two museums and gives an architectonic and decorative reconstitution of an unknown monument. The mostly unpublished blocks and fragments, presented here as the General Catalogue of the Turin Museum, follow a general introduction to the geographical, religious, and historical setting of Gebelein and of the chapel before Mentuhotep's reunification of the land. The dating of the chapel is formulated on the basis of the iconographical style of the reliefs and of the titulary borne by Mentuhotep. \'The publication therefore not only presents a valuable reference to the Egyptian antiquities housed in Turin's Egyptian Museum. This text identifies a key figure in the family that reused the Saite tomb of Ankh-Hor (TT 414) in the Asasif: Kalutj/Nes-Khonsu. Die regionale Mythologie Ägyptens nach Ausweis der geographischen Prozessionen in den späten Tempeln /

Dieses Buch beschließt das auf drei Bände angelegte Projekt zu den geografischen Prozessionen im Soubassement (Sockelbereich) der Tempel der griechisch-römischen Zeit. Hauptgegenstand sind die beiden großen vierteiligen geografischen Prozessionen auf der Außenseite des Naos und im Hof des Horustempels von Edfu. Da die Texte jedoch nicht an allen Stellen perfekt erhalten sind und Parallelen in anderen Tempeln existieren, wurden diese in die Untersuchung miteinbezogen. Die Hauptversionen in Edfu sind fotografisch im beiliegenden Tafelband dokumentiert.0Die Darstellung folgt der Reihenfolge der 22 oberägyptischen und 20 oberägyptischen Gaue (Verwaltungsbezirke) mit ihren jeweils vier Gabenträger, die nacheinander den Gau, den Kanal, das Fruchtland und das Sumpfgebiet repräsentieren. Die Beischriften zu jedem Gabenträger bestehen aus einer Übergabeformel, in der das jeweilige Toponym mit seinen Charakteristika genannt wird, sowie einer Identifikationsformel, bei der sich der Gott des Tempels, in dem sich die entsprechende Prozession befindet (z.B. Horus von Edfu) mit den lokalen Göttern der einzelnen Kultorte identifiziert. In beiden Teilen befindet sich eine Fülle mythologischer Informationen, die hier erstmalig übersetzt und ausführlich kommentiert werden. 0Zusammen mit den in den beiden ersten Bänden der Soubassementstudien analysierten Prozessionen ergeben sich rund 1.000 verschiedene kulttopografische Themenbereiche, von denen eine beträchtliche Anzahl außerhalb dieser Prozessionstexte nicht bekannt ist und in dieser Fülle selbst auf Papyri nicht durchgehend für alle Regionen Ägyptens erhalten ist. Mit dem von Florian Löffler für diesen Band erstellten Gesamtindex kann der 2.000 Seiten umfassende Inhalt der drei Bände nun leichter erschlossen werden.
