أربعة وثلاثون عامًا مضت منذ أن صدرت الطبعة الفرنسية الأولى لهذا الكتاب. النجاح الكبير الذي حققه هذا العمل لنسيم حنين دفع المعهد العلمي الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية لإعادة طبعه طبعة ثالثة. وهنا يقدم المعهد طبعته الأولى باللغة العربية. دراسة ظلت بلا مثيل لنجع بصعيد مصر، بلغ تعداده ٣١٥ فردًا في أوائل سنة ١٩٧٠، كانت كاِكتشاف لريف وفلاحي الصعيد صاغته نظرة مثقف قاهري، «عمل كحِجّ إلى المنابع المصرية الأصيلة والوعي بها» (شارل ڤيال). المسكن، طرق الصيد، الزراعة، الحياة اليومية للأهالي، الملابس، العقائد الدينية، الثقافات الشعبية: نسيم حنين عايش مجتمعًا قرويًا من «المهد إلى اللحد»، اعتنى واهتم وراقب أهم التغيرات، كما في كتاب «وصف مصر» وكتاب «المصريون المحدّثون» لإدوار وليم لين، اللذين قورن بهما الكتاب عند صدوره. الكتاب صار مصدرًا وعلامة هامة في تاريخ ريف مصر الحديث. احتوت الطبعة الثالثة على حوار طويل مع المؤلف ودراسته ومنهجه في تناول المواضيع والظروف التي عايشها بالنجع. عثر المؤلف على فيلم تسجيلي قصير عن النجع أخرجه الأب اليسوعي بول وارن، يمكن مشاهدته على قناة اليوتيوب الخاصة بالمعهد العلمي الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية. وأضيفَ نصٌ بقلم المخرج يفسر فيه تناوله الإثنوغرافي للفيلم وسينما الحقيقة

Isopoliteia in Hellenistic Times /

The diplomatic tool known as isopolity is a testament to Greek ingenuity and is attested all over the Mediterranean from the 4th to 1st century B.C., mainly epigraphically. "Isopoliteia" was a popular way to establish new relashionships, reinforce old ones or to regulate difficult situations among communities in the Hellenistic Period. This book offers close scrutiny of potential citizenship between communities as well as a fresh examination of new evidence which has emerged since the publication of the only monograph written on the topic by Wilfried Gawantka in 1975. The book brings together all the evidence for isopolity in the Hellenistic world and demonstrates that communities used this diplomatic tool across different kinds of agreements and through a range of different ways.

Extreme Klimaereignisse und Hungerkatastrophen zählen zu den kontinuierlichsten Problemen, mit denen sich Menschen durch alle Zeiten hindurch auseinandersetzen mussten. Gleichzeitig sind sie eng verflochten mit zeitlichen, räumlichen und gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen. Mit Methoden der historischen Hungerforschung und dem da etablierten Vulnerabiltitätskonzept werden die Texte der Hebräischen Bibel danach befragt, wie die Menschen extreme Klimaereignisse wahrgenommen, gedeutet und bewältigt haben. Dabei zeigt sich, dass die Texte nie einfache, monokausale Erklärungen bereithalten, sondern sich auf eine Reihe von unterschiedlichen, teilweise widersprüchlichen Aussagen stützen. Gott, Mensch und Natur erscheinen in dieser Vorstellung als Akteure, die miteinander agieren und die Katastrophe gleichermaßen mitverantworten. Extreme climate events and famines are among the most continuous problems that humans have had to deal with throughout the ages. At the same time, they are closely intertwined with temporal, spatial and social conditions. Using methods of historical hunger research and the established concept of vulnerability, this study examines the texts of the Hebrew Bible to determine how people perceived, interpreted and coped with extreme climate events. In doing so, it becomes apparent that the texts never provide simple, monocausal explanations, but rely on a number of different, sometimes contradictory statements. God, humans and nature appear in this conception as actors who interact with each other and share equal responsibility for the catastrophe.
