Ce volume est Ia suite de S. P. Brock, C.T. Fritsch et S. Jellicoe, A Classified Bibliography of the Septuagint (Brill, Leiden 1973) pour les publications parues sur la Septante entre 1970 et 1993. Cette bibliographie regroupe d'abord les études sur le texte grec proprement dit- éditions, langue des traducteurs, techniques de traduction, critique textuelle, manuscrits de Ia Septante trouvés à Qumrân, réception dans le judaïsme hellénistique (Philon, Flavius Josèphe) et le christianisme ancien (Nouveau Testament et Pères). Viennent ensuite les études particulières, classées par livre biblique, suivies des études sur les versions, orientales et latines, issues de la Septante. Le volume s'achève sur les travaux consacrés aux illustrations de la Septante. Cet instrument de travail s'adresse à tous ceux qui s'intéressent à la Bible, au judaïsme et au christianisme de l'Antiquité. This volume is a successor to A Classified Bibliography of the Septuagint ( Brill , Leiden 1973), by S.P. Brock, C.T. Fritsch and S. Jellicoe, for the literature on the Septuagint published between 1970 and 1993. It includes general publications on the Greek text - editions, language, translators' techniques, textual criticism, Septuagint manuscripts from Qumran and the use of the Septuagint in Ancient Judaism (Philon, Josephus) and Christianity (New Testament and Patristica). Particular studies are then classified by the individual books of the Bible, followed by literature on Oriental and Latin versions derived from the Septuagint. The studies on the illustrations of the Septuagint are included at the end. This reference tool will be indispensable for scholars or students interested in Bible, Judaism and Christianity in Late Antiquity.

Résumé What is the Crusade? How can we take into account all the views that have been expressed for more than a thousand years on a phenomenon that still haunts international relations today? Abbès Zouache draws on a variety of sources—Latin, Arabic, Armenian and Greek—which he treats without any prior intention of ranking them, and increases the number of encounters between Arab and European or American historiographies, which are generally unaware of each other. This approach allows him to propose a new history of the Crusade, which he shows to be a unique memorial phenomenon that, from the time of Pope Urban II's Clermont Appeal, has been a vehicle for far-reaching ideological and political issues.

Jean Yoyotte (1927-2009), directeur d'études à l'EPHE, section des sciences religieuses, professeur au Collège deFrance, directeur de la Mission des fouilles de Tanis pendant vingt ans, fut un immense savant dont les curiosités multiples et intarissables ont fait qu'il n'y aguère de thèmes et de périodes de l'histoire, de la géographie et de la pensée religieuse de l'Égypte ancienne qu'il n'ait abordés à un moment ou un autre de sa carrière. Il eut cependant des sujets de prédilection qu'il n'a jamais abandonnés et pour lesquels il fut un initiateur et un maître hors pair. C'est lui qui suscita l'intérêt, qui ne s'est jamais démenti depuis, pour la Troisième Période Intermédiaire, et plus généralement le premier millénaire avant notre ère, époque longtemps négligée, voire tenue en mépris, par nombre d'égyptologues.

This volume is a collection of papers revealing the largely unexplored boundary between linguistic and literary approaches to classical texts. Eleven contributions by various scholars discuss a wide range of linguistic and literary apects of classical texts: the narratee in the prologues of Sophocles' Trachiniae and of Euripides, the chronology in Pindar's Odes, the relation between tense-aspect and Discourse Modes in Thucydides, Xenophon, Vergil and Ovid, the use of aspect in the Law Code of Gortyn, expressions of futurity and the word order of adjectives in Herodotus, and, finally, ancient and modern views on word order. Following an interdisciplinary approach, all contributions aim at bridging the gap between linguistic and literary study of classical texts.

In recent years, there has been an increased interest in the study of the concept of time in the Ottoman Empire. Many existing studies focused on the technical aspects, e.g. the measure of time, and the instruments to do this (like clepsydras, water clocks, hourglasses, and sundials found on the facades of mosques and medreses). Other aspects were neglected, like the various Ottoman experiments with time and the Ottomans' conceptions of time. This collective volume addresses several of these forgotten aspects of the political, social and cultural modalities of time in the Ottoman Empire.

Au cours du XIX e siècle, l'histoire de la philosophie s'est imposée comme une discipline centrale dans l'institution philosophique française. Ce processus reposait sur l'influence intellectuelle et politique exercée par Victor Cousin (1792-1867); il a coïncidé avec l'élaboration d'un schéma interprétatif conférant à la Renaissance, en tant qu'époque philosophique, un statut controversé, caractérisé par l'infériorité conceptuelle. L'ouvrage éclaire les enjeux idéologiques des débats sur la Renaissance dans la France du XIX e siècle. Il propose une approche globale des reconstructions érudites et des utilisations polémiques de la Renaissance centrée sur une relecture politique de la pratique historiographique, ainsi que sur ses réseaux personnels, académiques et transnationaux. During the nineteenth century, the history of philosophy established itself in France as a central discipline within the academic institutions. This process, which rested on the intellectual and political influence of Victor Cousin (1792-1867), coincided with the development of an interpretative scheme that gave the Renaissance as philosophical epoch a controversial status characterized by conceptual inferiority. This volume sheds light on the ideological implications of the debates on the Renaissance in nineteenth-century France. It offers a comprehensive approach to the scholarly reconstructions and polemical uses of the Renaissance by developing a political and transnational rereading of the nineteenth-century French practices of the history of philosophy.

Témoignages de ses travaux, mais aussi de son regard attentif sur la vie quotidienne en Égypte, Étienne Drioton a laissé une importante collection de clichés réalisés entre 1924 et 1952, dont beaucoup sont encore inédits. Cet ouvrage vous propose de lui emboîter le pas au fil du Nil. Tout d'abord l'égyptologue nous entraîne vers les sites archéologiques de Haute Égypte : Médamoud et Tôd, où il travaille entre 1925 et 1936, puis Karnak, Louqsor et Deir el-Médineh. À côté de la réalisation d'une multitude de clichés de sites et de fouilles, il s'intéresse aussi à la réalité quotidienne des habitants de ces contrées. Il entre dans les villages, réalise des portraits de personnages typiques, rencontre les fellahs, fixe par l'image les travaux des champs. En juin 1936, alors qu'il est Directeur général du Service des antiquités au Caire, le pays se présente comme un vaste chantier. Ici on fouille, là on reconstitue un monument. En tenue civile ou coiffé du tarbouche officiel, il visite les sites, accompagnant parfois de hautes personnalités qui ont marqué l'histoire. Ce sont pour nous autant d'occasions de découvrir les vestiges de l'Égypte pharaonique tels qu'ils se présentaient en cette première moitié du XXe siècle. Voyage sur le Nil en compagnie du roi Farouk, reconstitution du complexe funéraire de Djeser à Saqqara, découvertes des tombes royales de Tanis, sont autant de points forts qui jalonnent cet album. Sa bibliographie, en annexe, rappelle qu'il était avant tout un chercheur, un immense savant dont les travaux novateurs ont fait avancer la science de l'égyptologie.
